No New Posts Letter Correspondence

Cell phones don't seem to work at The Redmere, and no internet connection is offered. You're better off trying your luck with a letter, slipped under the door of another guest or employee, or futilely sent to go out with the next post.

No New Posts Counting the Days

How long have you been here? How long has anyone been here? What year is it anyway? What day? Perhaps keeping a journal might help you to keep your wits about you while you count the days, weeks, and months...

Do you want to host a party? Maybe an escape party? Perhaps you're looking to connect with someone of like mind. Maybe you're looking for something - anything - to break up your days. Then post a note up on the bulletin board in the hotel lobby!

No New Posts The Lobby

Everyone has to start somewhere, and at The Redmere Hotel, this means starting at the lobby. Here, you will find the hotel's friendly concierge at the front desk, and be able to check in and out. Not that checking out will do you much good, of course.

No New Posts The Hallways

Not only on the first floor, but on all floors of the hotel, of course. The concept seems simple enough, but things are rarely what they seem at The Redmere, so it's a good idea to pay attention to where you're going.

No New Posts The Elevators

Complete with cheerful and helpful elevator operators of course. What? All elevators come with operators, didn't you know? If you're feeling brave I suppose you could go it alone. If you can figure out how to work these antiques.

No New Posts The Bar & Lounge

What hotel would be complete without a bar and lounge, open well into the small hours? This particular bar and lounge is 'classically styled'. In fact, it looks like it probably hasn't changes since the 1940s at least.

No New Posts The Dining Room

A classical and functional retreat, and a good place to meet other guests. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served here (included in the room rates... if you pay any.) The dining hall also offers classic afternoon tea of the sort you don't see nowadays.

No New Posts The Grand Redmere Ballroom

For the most part this grand old ballroom is unoccupied during the day. But a number of events and dances are often scheduled here, and by evening the ballroom is a buzzing hub of social activity.

No New Posts Staff Only

Staff areas consist of back offices, the staff lounge, the kitchens and, the laundry, etc. Guests are not exactly banned from these areas, but these places are sign-posted as staff only and it is generally considered impolite to ignore the hotel's signs.

No New Posts First Floor Guest Rooms

These are the guest hotel rooms on the first floor. Rooms are fairly standard, offering one or two double beds and an en-suite bathroom. As with the rest of the hotel, furnishings are suspiciously old fashioned and yet in wonderful shape.

No New Posts The Library

Positively packed to the gills with wonderfully bound and preserved books of yore, the library is a quiet place to relax your day away, abundantly lit with large windows. Mind you, good luck finding any recent books in here.

No New Posts The Fourth Floor Employee Rooms

The fourth floor of the hotel is the attic. Up here, the hallways are narrow and crooked, and the rooms much less lavishly decorated than the guest rooms below. Though just as below, everything here is suspiciously old fashioned.

No New Posts Attic Storage Rooms

God only knows what you might find up here in these dusty and disused old rooms. Used now as storage for this and that from ages gone by (or not gone by...) The attic level is a bit of a labyrinth though.

No New Posts The Hotel Gardens & Patio

Designed and implemented some time long since passed perhaps, the hotel gardens are impeccably kept in fashionable Victorian style. They offer a nice place to relax and take afternoon tea on the terrace during the summer months.

No New Posts The Bathhouse

A separate building from the main hotel, the bathhouse offers an old fashioned swimming pool and immense windows to let sunlight inside. The pool and bathhouse themselves are heated, and there is a sunbathing area as well as changing rooms.

No New Posts The Old Stables

Unfortunately, you won't find any horses here any more, though the old stable block still remains, along with all of its equipment, as if it might have been occupied only yesterday. A quaint place to explore or escape from a freak rainstorm.

No New Posts The Boating Pond & Pavilion

What could be more lovely in the middle of summer than a small boating pond and a quaint little pavilion to sit and take afternoon tea underneath? In the winter, the pond is used for skating and the pavilion serves hot drinks.

No New Posts Evergreen Forest & Trails

The estate is vast and surrounded entirely by pine forest planted long, long ago. Whether you're out for a leisurely wander along the trails, or you're trying to find your way out, most people end up here at some point.

No New Posts Redmere Road

There is only one road in, and consequentially, out of the Redmere Estate. There are no turn-offs, and the road seems relatively straight. But it somehow always seems to loop right back around to the hotel no matter how many times you try to drive away.
